L’EQUIP’s decision to participate in a reforestation project was inspired by the quote:

We have partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree in one of America’s
national forests for every L’EQUIP dehydrator, juicer and blender that we sell. We not
only want to offer a core group of health oriented appliances that help people make
positive changes in their lifestyle, we want to help lower our carbon footprint and have
an impact on the environment that affects our daily living.

The Arbor Day Foundation began working with the U.S. Forest Service following the
Yellowstone fires in 1988. Since 1990 they have helped plant nearly ten million trees in
America’s National Forests that have been damaged by fire, insects and disease.
Currently more than one million acres are in critical need of being replanted.

“One acre of forest absorbs six tons of carbon dioxide and puts out four tons of
oxygen…” – U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Beginning in April through June of this year working with the U.S. Department of
Agriculture donations from L’EQUIP helped plant 8,054 trees in the Tahoe National
Forest and 1,987 trees in the Mendocino National Forest replacing foliage destroyed
by fires and beetle infestations. We have now partnered to plant over 25,000 trees.

This large project is speeding the recovery of these critical areas and restoring
highpriority watersheds. Ongoing projects similar to this one throughout the
country have a real and positive impact for us, our families and future generations
to come.
